M.J. Johnson

Musical Theatre

M.J. has been working professionally in the theatre since the age of 17. Having spent the beginning of her career as a performer, she now works regularly as a voice teacher, vocal coach, music director, pianist, and vocalist.

In addition to her private vocal studio, M.J. is a member of the Vocal Faculty at Sheridan College teaching private voice lessons and vocal coaching in the Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program. She has taught in the College program at Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, the Laurier Conservatory’s Music Theatre Academy, and has vocal coached at a number of arts schools in the Kitchener-Waterloo and Greater Toronto Areas. Her coaching students have performed in Mirvish Productions, the Stratford Festival, Drayton Entertainment, and many other theatres across Canada and the United States.

M.J. has been a vocal director for Disney Cruise Lines and has music directed numerous stage shows for theatre companies including Thousand Islands Playhouse, and Silver Mist Productions. She played keyboard for the Broadway
Across Canada tour of “Wicked” (TCU Place), Drayton Entertainment’s production of “Les Misérables”, and was a keyboard sub in the Toronto production of “Jersey Boys”.

In her former life as a music theatre performer, M.J. appeared onstage with Disney Cruise Line, at Stage West Mississauga, and Paramount Canada’s Wonderland, to name a few. She is a graduate of the Music Theatre
Performance Program at Sheridan College.

Michelyn Wright received her Honours Bachelor of Music Education, and an Artist's Performance Diploma from the University of Western Ontario then her Master of Music in Voice Performance at the Mannes College of Music in New York City.

Michelyn has performed as a soloist with the Guelph Chamber Choir, the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Operetta Theatre, and as a chorister with the Canadian Opera Company Chorus. Roles include, Mademoiselle Silberklang, Der Schauspieldirektor; Despina, Così fan tutte; Nannetta, Falstaff; Josephine, H.M. S. Pinafore; Arsena, The Gypsy Baron and the title role of Handel’s Agrippina.

Michelyn has been an active Voice Teacher and Vocal/Choral Adjudicator in Ontario. Her students have been Finalists and Winners at the OMFA Provincials, NATS Chapter and Regional Auditions and various festivals in the GTA.

Michelyn has been an Artist Educator with the Canadian Opera Company Education Department and the Vocal Music Director for the Unionville Theatre Company, and a member of the Voice Teaching Staff with the Bach Children’s Chorus. As a member of the Ontario Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Michelyn is a past V. P. of Special Projects, where she created the Workshop, “Making the Cut”, and was the Chapter Auditions Coordinator from 2009-2015.

Currently, Michelyn is a Sessional Lecturer for the Music Education department of the University of Toronto, teaching Voice Education to aspiring young Music Educators, and is an Applied Music Instructor for the Master of Sacred Music program at Emmanuel College. In Markham, she runs an active voice studio ages 7 and up.

Tyler Seidenberg

Tyler Seidenberg

Tyler Seidenberg (B.Mus., B.Ed., OCT, A. Piano Perf.) is a professional pianist, vocalist, and composer from Oakville, Ontario.

His compositions have been performed on radio and television across North America, and his music workshops have inspired music students and teachers across Canada.

He studied piano with Susan Mander and voice with Linda Fletcher, received his A. Piano Perf. from CNCM, studied advanced music theory and digital audio production at Azusa Pacific University in California, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.Mus. degree from McMaster University. He graduated with honours from the audio engineering program at Number 9 Recording Studios in Toronto and received his B.Ed. from OISE – University of Toronto.

For over five years, Tyler toured throughout North America with the GMA Canada Covenant award-winning Christian music groups God Rocks! and Carried Away performing and ministering to tens of thousands of youth and adults.

He has been invited to speak at many teaching studios and music events across Canada associated with multiple organizations: RCM, ORMTA, CNCM, MYC, CC, and OSA. He has also been active as an adjudicator for the Peel Music Festival and Oakville Vocal Arts Festival.

Currently, Tyler serves as the music director for the musical theatre company Innovative Arts (Oakville), teaches private piano and theory lessons, and freelances as an accompanist, session musician, and music producer.
